Computer system
Windows XP
The second pc I selected is Intel Pentium 4 Packard bell
pc. It has 320GB hard drive, 1024MB RAM memory, 512
MB Graphics card, 2.0 Intel 2 dual core processor. It has
19inch glass fronted screen that doesn’t effect your eyes and provide you the
better view and this glass can easily taken off if you like to. On windows XP
you can operate any window on it for example, windows, XP home edition,
windows XP professional, Windows, ME, windows 2000 and windows Vista.
Graphical user interface (GUI): Pentium is GUI windows because it has
mouse to navigate around the computer. Windows XP operate by GUI.
Operating system:
I will show you the operating system of
windows XP professional and explain 10 of the
system programmes.
Add and remove=
Add and remove is programme where you can add any new programme or
delete any kind of programme from you windows and PC.
Date and time=
This is where you can change date times or check the date and time.
I
nternet option=
Internet options is where you selected your internet explorer options like
security, home page, website you want to allow and want to block.
Printer and fax=
Printer and fax is where you check which printer or fax installed in your pc and
you can also remove or add new printer or fax.
Phone and modem=
That allow you to see which modem is installed in your PC and it also give
you the option of uninstall or add new modem.
Scanner and camera=
This is where you can see which camera is installed and which scanner is
connected and installed to your PC.

Sound and audio device=
It shows you which sound device you have in your pc and from here you
control your sound setting and the voice depth and pitch.
System=
This is where you can see all the information about your system, like you can
check which ram, processor, motherboard, and hard drive is in your PC and
all other information about the system.
User account=
This allows you to see how many users you have for your PC and you can
also add password on your user to make it private.
Wireless and network=
It allows you to change setting your wireless or network. Through this you can
have wireless or network connection on your pc.
Security on Windows XP=
Windows XP use service pack 2 in the security system which helps keeping
your PC monitored and give you regular updates for your computer to keep
protecting from latest viruses and also inform you about any new threat. You
can also put password on the users you make on windows XP and can also
put at the start when you turn on the PC and it make your PC more secure
File management=
When you use FAT32 system it makes the system limited for example
clusters can’t be more than 64kb or large. You can’t format a volume larger
than 32GB. If you trying to install windows XP on fat32 and making partition
larger than 32 during process the format operation fails.
NTFS Systems is mostly recommended for windows XP home and server
2003. NTFS offers many end-user benefits related to functionality, security,
stability, availability, reliability, and performance. Under Windows XP and
Windows 2000, NTFS supports a maximum file size of up to the disk size,
while FAT32 supports a maximum file size of only 4 GB and on NTFS you can
make partition as much large you want.

Mac OSX system
Apple Mac
Apple is one of the famous companies in many products such
as Apple I pod and computers. I am showing you an Apple
computer above with all the main features. It has 320GB hard
drive, 1024 MB RAM, 256 MB graphics card and 2.4 dual core
processor. However it has 24 inch screen for the better and
bigger view. This computer operates Mac OS X system. This
is equivalent to windows XP and that’s the operating system
Apple pc operates. You can only operate OS X 1.02 system on it you can’t
operate any other system on Apple computer.
Graphical user interface (GUI): Apple O MEC is GUI windows because it
has mouse to navigate around the computer.
Appearance=
This option allows you to change your windows
looks and the background and you can change the
colour of the window.
Desktop and screen saver=
Through this option you can change your back
ground and select the screen saver for your
system.

This option allows you to see how much ink do
you have left in your printer to use and how many prints you can get.
Keyboard and mouse=
Keyboard and mouse option shows you which mouse and keyboard is
connected to your pc.
Printer and fax=
Printer and fax option allow you to see what is your printer model and is the
printer of fax installed in your pc and which software version do you need.
Sound=
This is where you control the setting of sound and see which sound card is
installed in your pc.
Account=
This allows people you have to have different account for each users to keep
there privacy and you can put password on each of the account and it doesn’t
affect system speed at all.

Date and time=
Here you can select the date time and the region so you have the right time
and date on your pc.
Software updates=
Software updates is the option which update your operating system automatic
from the apple company.
Speech=
This is option on voice recorder and mike. From here you can record and
have voice chat over the inter net through the mike.
Security=
Apple’s approach to security protects your Mac from attacks over private or
public networks, such as the Internet. Mac OS X can download software
updates automatically, ensuring that you stay current with the latest security
patches and software releases directly from Apple. To make it easy to
manage passwords and permission to network computer make includes a
keychain.
File management=
HFS (Hierarchical File System) was the primary file system format used on
the Macintosh Plus and later models, until Mac OS 8.1, when HFS was
replaced by HFS Plus.
HFS+ is a file system developed by Apple to replace their HFS as the primary
file system used on Macintosh computers. It is also one of the formats used
by the iPod digital music player. HFS Plus is also referred to as HFS
Extended and Mac OS Extended. During development, Apple referred to this
file system. HFS Plus is an improved version of HFS which supports much
larger files. HFS Plus also uses a full 32-bit allocation mapping table, rather
than HFS 16 bits.
